City of Tampa app makes it easy to request service, report potholes

In addition to requesting service and staying connected, customers can now pay utility bills on the City of Tampa's mobile app. But many use it to let the city know about holes in the streets.
"It's really annoying. Everybody at the office has learned to avoid the entire intersection," said Stephany Seary about the roads riddled with potholes right outside her South Tampa workplace. "I've had two flat tires since I've been here."
The City of Tampa's free app for mobile devices could help.
The app, first launched in January, can accomplish all sorts of things; reporting a power outage, contacting city offices, reporting roadside dumping, paying a utility bill. Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn says the most popular feature is photographing and reporting potholes. "They'd know exactly where it is because of the GPS coordinates, so they wouldn't have to walk around and find it and hopefully in 72 hours, it'd be fixed," said Mayor Buckhorn.
Seary tested the free app to report the potholes outside her workplace. "It was pretty easy! "I hope in 72 hours that the city of Tampa takes care of this."
5000 people are already using the app. Search for it using "city of Tampa" in the app store for your Android or iPhone device.
