New Garbage, Recycling & Yard Waste Schedule
Posted on Sep 27th, 2013
Cart Size Choice
Residents are encouraged to “test drive” the new roll carts until January 15, 2014. This period will cover the holiday season, a time of year when larger amounts of garbage and recyclables are generated and more capacity generally is needed. At the conclusion of the “test drive,” if a resident wants to exchange a roll cart, a one-time size change at no charge can be arranged by contacting your Franchise Collector from January 15, 2014 – March 15, 2014. Roll cart size changes after the January 15, 2014 - March 15, 2014 “swap out” period will incur a $30 charge each.
What To Do With Old Trash Cans
Residents are encouraged to keep their old trash cans for yard waste, or other household purposes. Unwanted cans can be placed curbside for collection the week of September 23 with a note directing your service provider to take the cans. After the new automated program starts the week of September 30, old trash cans can be placed in your GRAY roll cart for disposal, or taken to a Community Collection Center.
f you still have questions about your new residential garbage collection service, or to report cart delivery issues, call the Public Utilities Customer Service Center at 813-272-5680, or email: SolidWaste@hillsboroughcounty.org.
